High Value Manufacturing Catapult announces new Chief Technology Officer

The High Value Manufacturing Catapult has announced that Professor Sam Turner has been appointed as their new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Sam joins the HVM Catapult from his role as CTO at one of our fellow HVM Catapult Centres, the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC). Sam brings with him a wealth of manufacturing technology experience to further strengthen relationships between academic institutions and industry.

HVM Catapult CEO Dick Elsy said: “I’m really pleased that we’ve made an internal appointment for this key role. Sam is an excellent technologist and can bring collaborators together to focus on innovation. It’s great to have him on board. He shares our passion for the HVM Catapult mission to help companies deliver new manufacturing technology to market”.

Sam Turner said: “I’m excited and honoured to be taking on the HVM Catapult CTO role and joining the core team. I’m passionate about delivering transformation into UK industry through manufacturing technology. There are some great opportunities nationally at the moment. “

Professor Keith Ridgway, Executive Dean of the AMRC, said: “We are delighted that Sam Turner has been offered the opportunity to be the CTO of the HVM Catapult. It is a great accolade for both Sam and the AMRC and we wish him well in his new role.”

Sam will begin a progressive handover of his responsibilities from January next year and will be full-time in his role from the beginning of March 2017.

The NCC congratulates Sam and we wish him the very best of luck in his new role!
