The NCC joined UK Prime Minister on Indian trade mission

The NCC joined a Senior Government trade mission to India. The UK Prime Minister Theresa May led the delegation which included NCC Exec Dir Strategy & Business Alison Starr and the CEO, High Value Manufacturing Catapult, Dick Elsy. The visit included the Inaugural Session of India-UK Tech Summit in New Delhi.

The event featured speeches from the senior Government figure(s) from each country, including Dr Liam Fox, Secretary of State, Department for International Trade. A session on ‘Tomorrow’s manufacturing today’ featured a keynote speech Andy Green, Bloodhound Land Speed Record Pilot as well as the ‘The Future for Make in the UK’ by Dick Elsy. 

Alison Starr said, “A key question has been how can the Catapults help the initiative with India - I would say that there are excellent opportunities and that now we need to work on win/ win collaborations where both the UK and India will benefit.”

The delegation then moved to Pune for a Future Manufacturing & Innovation Workshop which included representatives from Tata Motors. Alison Starr presented on the Innovation and Trends in Composites along with Dr. Paul Marwick from the MTC HVM Catapult centre. 

The visitors concluded the trip being hosted by the Deputy High Commission in Bangalore for a further workshop on manufacturing and innovation.
