There’s still time to register for the Innovate UK Innovation in infrastructure Systems call!

Innovate UK opened the Innovation in Infrastructure Systems funding call earlier in July this year. This call gives businesses the opportunity to apply for a share of up to £15 million to develop innovative solutions to challenges in the infrastructure systems sector.  The deadline for registration is Wednesday14th September, so there’s still time to get involved.

The NCC is looking to support bids into the Innovation in Infrastructure Systems call, offering B2B brokerage, consortium building and bid support to companies of all sizes. The NCC technology offer includes; design and simulation, prototype manufacture, process optimisation, testing and inspection, manufacturing and test equipment and industry training. The NCC can also provide guidance in brokeraging relationships and contacting supply chain partners to support your application. 

Competition Aims:

The aim of this competition is to encourage the development of business-led innovative solutions that will help provide:

  • Affordable, sustainable and secure energy
  • Connected transport
  • Urban living
  • Integrated infrastructure and resilience of infrastructure to environmental and social pressures

There is up to £15 million of funding available for projects that align with the competition brief. These funds are broken down into 2 streams:

  • Stream 1: £5 million for projects lasting up to 1 year with total eligible costs under £100,000.
  • Stream 2: £10 million for projects lasting over 1 year with total eligible costs between £100,000 and £5 million.

Am I eligible for this call?
To be part of a project, you must carry out your project in the UK and work in collaboration with others (for example businesses, research organisations and third sector). The NCC can often help with networking and forming partnerships.

Competition Deadlines

  • Competition opens: 4 July August 2016
  • Registration deadline: Noon on 14 September 2016
  • Application deadline: Noon on 21 September 2016

NB: Bids must be led by businesses. The NCC is unable to lead bids.
