Third International Symposium on Automated Composites Manufacturing (ACM3)

20 April 2017, 09:00 to 21 April 2017, 17:00
Concordia Centre For Composites

The NCC is delighted to be attending the 3rd International Symposium on Automated Composites Manufacturing (ACM3) which will take place from Thursday 20th to Friday 21st April 2017 in Montreal, Canada.

Mattia Di Francesco and Laura Veldenz, both Engineering Doctorate (EngD) Research Engineers working in the NCC’s Automated Deposition team, will be presenting their research to the broad international audience at the event.

The symposium addresses topics in the area of advanced composites manufacturing using automated technologies. It brings together both academia and industrial practitioners with the aim of bridging the gap between academic research and industrial applications.

Mattia Di Francesco will present his work on the “Feature-Based Design for Manufacturing Guidelines for Dry Fibre AFP”. Laura Veldenz will discuss her research into “Assessment of Steering Capability of Automated Dry Fibre Placement through a quantitative methodology”. Both presentations are part of the work supported by the National Composites Centre through the Core Research and Technology Programme and by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council through the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Composites Manufacture [grant number EP/K50323X/1].
