UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), Composites UK and the National Composites Centre (NCC) are joining forces at the 2015 JEC Composites Show in Paris this March forming a collaborative UK-centric stand (stand C67), which will promote the UK as a driving force in innovation for fibre-reinforced composite materials (FRPs).

The NCC plays an active role in developing manufacturing technologies that UK industry needs to remain competitive in the high value manufacturing sector. The UK High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVMC) and the NCC were represented at the European Materials Modelling Council (EMMC) in February. Peter Giddings (NCC Researcher) visited Brussels to ensure the UK benefits from strong links with European collaborators and the enhanced funding those links bring.

Senior figures from both organisations shook hands to confirm the annual membership deal after a year of successful project working.

The High Value Manufacturing Catapult comprises seven elite technology and innovation centres throughout the country.

Innovate UK has recently announced a fund allowing opportunity for UK businesses to work together on novel equipment, processes and systems for flexible manufacturing.

If you’re a business looking for funding in the area of flexible manufacturing, Innovate UK is investing up to £7 million in a collaborative research and development competition. This is co-funded by the EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council).
