Automation can unlock great leaps in productions times and abilities. Given that composites have historically been very much driven by manual processes, some automation techniques are not yet fully exploited.
In this course we'll look at common manufacturing methods and what technologies are currently available to automate them. We'll also look at a few specific composite deposition technologies to gain a better overview of them.
We'll investigate some of the practical tooling considerations when using an automated process.
What we'll cover:
- Automation vs Digital
- Automated technologies
- The key technologies used in composites
- Automated systems/lines
- Key deposition technologies:
- Filament Winding
- Pick & Place
- Tooling considerations for automation
Duration: 2 x 3 hours over 2 days
Day 1: 12:00 - 15:00
Day 2: 09:30 - 12:30
