IMECHE Decarbonising the Industrial Clusters

Tuesday, 16 Apr 2024

Sedgewick

Andrea D'Angio, Deputy Chief Engineer - Hydrogen Technologies, at the National Composites Centre will be speaking at the IMECHE seminar 'Decarbonising the Industrial Clusters' on 16th April 2024, taking place at the Hardwick Hall Hotel, Sedgewick.

There is continued urgency to meet the UK’s legally binding net-zero target of 2050. Much of the UK Governments’ updated strategy puts weight on the continued growth of carbon capture storage, hydrogen and nuclear, the decarbonisation of heat and more effective and efficient grid connections. The decarbonisation of UK industrial clusters represents a key area of knowledge sharing that is crucial for achieving net-zero targets.

Following on from the 2023 event, this seminar will platform a greater number of the ongoing projects working to integrate new low carbon energy sources, carbon capture storage and hydrogen production.

Decarbonising the Industrial Clusters 2024 will present the technical efforts of businesses and engineers working to support decarbonisation, CCS and hydrogen production but also provide an update on the practical mobilisation of government bodies who have influence over emissions guidelines, funding and policy.

This event will address these challenges and drivers by focalising the technical concerns of engineers as well as working to demystify the ongoing changes made to official guidelines and governance surrounding net-zero targets.

Join this seminar to find out more about the lessons learned and technological advances from these clusters and how they can be used to accelerate decarbonisation in wider industries.
