Hydrogen Innovation Initiative Parliamentary Reception

Location:

Portcullis House, London

Date:

Wed, 25 Mar 2026 - Wed, 25 Mar 2026

Accelerating UK Hydrogen Technologies

Hydrogen Innovation Initiative (HII) is hosting a Parliamentary reception focused on showcasing how British innovation and investment can, with the right support, help to secure an early mover advantage and translate into a thriving domestic hydrogen sector.

Dr Marcus Walls-Bruck, Chief Engineer for Hydrogen at NCC and the High Value Manufacturing Catapult will be participating, sharing insights into how we're contributing towards accelerating UK hydrogen technologies.

The global hydrogen economy is set to reach $8tn by 2050, with demand for hydrogen technologies expected to increase to $1tn annually by 2050, due to the critical role that hydrogen is set to play in delivering net zero. This includes decarbonising hard-to-abate industries, such as chemical production, heavy industry and aviation.

If you would like to know how to support the hydrogen journey, consider the Hydrogen Awareness Modules to learn how hydrogen is made, moved and used to power the future.

About the event

The Hydrogen Innovation Initiative brings together leading organisations from industry, government and academia to create an investible, globally competitive hydrogen technology and services sector in the UK.

The parliamentary reception will be attended by parliamentarians, officials and senior industry representatives, featuring organisations from the Hydrogen Innovation Initiative’s past and present Accelerator programmes. These programmes have facilitated the rapid commercial growth of many ground-breaking UK hydrogen start-ups, who would be pleased to meet with you and showcase their innovative home-grown technologies.
