SAMPE Europe 25 Conference Amsterdam

Muziekgebouw aan het IJ, Amsterdam

6-7 October 2025

The SAMPE Europe 25 Conference will be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands from 6 – 7 October 2025. Themed “The Future of Advanced & Sustainable Composites,” the event is organised in a joint co-operation between SAMPE Benelux and SAMPE Europe.

NCC experts will be available throughout the event to share how we’re innovating for industry:

  • Peter Giddings, Chief Engineer for Energy will be chairing the dedicated Energy session taking place on Tuesday, 7 October 2025 at the Open Stage. Stay tuned for more information.
  • Phil Druiff, Advanced Research Engineer for Automation will be presenting “A Novel Method for Quantitative Assessment of Process-induced Defects in Uncured Composites Materials,” during the Design & Modelling session taking place on Tuesday, 7 October 2025 in Room 4. He will present a new method for identifying defects in uncured composite materials — a key challenge in high-rate manufacturing for Aerospace and Energy. Traditional defect checks are slow, manual, and often subjective. This new approach is faster, consistent, and easy to apply across different systems.
  • Michael Elkington, Advanced Research Engineer for Manufacturing will be presenting a poster on “Sensing resin flow during manufacture of composite wind turbine blades”. The session highlights recent developments with the TURBO project, which deploys an Internet of Things approach to control infusion & automatically detect defects during material deposition.
