Powering the future
Our experts will be available throughout WindEurope Annual Event taking place in Madrid, from 21-23 April. They will also be showcasing how NCC innovates for industry in the following poster sessions:
- Ffion Rodes, Chief Engineer for Wind Energy will be presenting insights from the Joule Programme, highlighting “Innovation of a composite tower to drive wind turbine system cost savings”
- Daniel Griffin, Principal Research Engineer and Ahmad Sheikh, Research Engineer will be presenting learnings from the TURBO programme, focused on “Adaptive control of resin flow during manufacture of composite wind turbine blades”
Stay tuned for more details.
About the event
Wind is Europe’s greatest energy asset – and it’s vital that we tackle false narratives and come together to tackle to bottlenecks to further wind buildout. This year in Madrid, the conference will be looking at the many ways wind delivers for Europe – and what we can do to ramp it up further.
Wind is cheap: Per the sums – wind and other renewables are the cheapest option for Europe by far – even when you factor in all the energy system integration costs.
Wind is clean: The modern wind turbines have practically zero water or environmental footprint. 90% of its mass is recyclable – and we are committed to reusing, recycling, recycling and recovering all turbine components for 100% circularity.
Wind is strategic: Wind energy is entirely home-grown and European. It provides hundreds of thousands of jobs across the continent and brings investment to rural and coastal communities. It gives Europe a competitive edge, driving electrification and reducing our dependence on fossil fuels from unreliable foreign powers.
