NCC Privacy Notice for Data Protection Complaints Procedure
NCC complies with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UKGDPR. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a Data Controller.
This Privacy Notice explains what personal data is collected, how it is processed and who it will be shared with.
Why we collect personal data about you
We collect and hold personal data relating to your complaint relating to personal data
We use this information to:
- Verify your identity before processing your complaint
- Investigate your complaint and respond to you.
Our Lawful Basis for processing is:
- Legal Obligation: Processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the NCC is subject.
We may also collect data on complaint outcomes and use it in an anonymised format for reporting, evaluation and for learning and development purposes.

- Contact details
- Photo ID – to verify your identity
- Details of your complaint (may contain personal data)
Who we share your information with
We will share data with:
- NCC Staff members – only when necessary for them to carry out their responsibilities as part of the investigation into your complaint.
- Third parties – only when necessary for them to carry out their responsibilities as part of the investigation into your complaint.
- Witnesses and/or attendees of meetings within the Procedure.
How long we keep your information for
We will only keep your information for as long as we need to unless we need to keep it for legal reasons. For the purposes of this processing we will keep your data for 3 years.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask to see the information we hold about you
- Ask us to change information we hold about you if it is wrong
- Ask us to delete the information we hold about you
- Ask us to limit the way we use your information
- Ask for human intervention regarding decisions made about you by a computer
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office
