Williams Advanced Engineering, the technology and engineering services business of the Williams Group, advanced their membership of the National Composites Centre (NCC) at the Advanced Engineering Show. Senior figures from both organisations shook hands to confirm the annual membership deal after a year of successful project working.
Williams Advanced Engineering has been using the NCC specialist facilities for the past 12 months on projects that bring the company’s specialist skills born from Formula One racing into a range of commercial industries. Williams Advanced Engineering are now planning to use the new capability offered by the High Volume Press area, recently opened at the NCC 'Building the Future for Composites' event by Vince Cable.
Tom Hitchings, Business Development Director said, “We’ve already had a very constructive working relationship with Williams Advanced Engineering and are looking forward to future work together. The opportunity for the automotive sector with our new specialist press equipment is taking the NCC into the future of composites engineering. But the key to the NCC success is the knowledge transfer, so in turn, what we learn together can be adapted back into use in other sectors such as aerospace where our initial strength and expertise lies.”
Craig Wilson, Managing Director, Williams Advanced Engineering, added; "We've joined the NCC because it is the central hub for the development of the composites industry in the United Kingdom. After a successful 12-month working relationship with the NCC, synergies and opportunities to grow the relationship were clearly evident. Embarking on a membership to the NCC was the next step in furthering the development of this relationship, a journey we are very excited to continue forward on."
