More
Defence: Applied Research & Technology Forum

Technology leaders showcase innovative materials & manufacturing technologies, focused on pulling fundamental innovative technology through the mid Technology Readiness Levels (TRL 4-7) as a means of showing greater application of novel research for UK Defence.

Our Impact
Energy: TURBO Programme

Part of a European research project focused on reducing waste in wind turbine blade production, we're developing a new digital system that uses sensors to monitor the manufacturing process. Through active control, this digital innovation has the potential to significantly reduce typical re-work, scrap & repair for more efficient & sustainable blade production.

Our Impact
Other sectors: Space

In collaboration with the University of Bristol, we've developed high-performance composite materials that were tested on the International Space Station. The results will inform the design of future space structures, such as space stations & interplanetary spacecraft.
