Jonathan Fuller, Principal Research Engineer will be a speaker at the WindEurope EoLIS 2026 taking place in Spain.
A panel speaker on “How can blade re-use and recycling be scaled?”, Jonathan will discuss the need for policy support, cross-sector collaboration, and industrial-scale solutions to enable cost-effective recycling at scale. He is also expected to share how projects like SusWIND demonstrate viable recycling technologies, promote sustainable materials, and embed design-for-disassembly principles. This session takes place on Wednesday, 25 November from 15:00 – 15:45.

About the event
Europe’s wind energy capacity continues to grow, but attention must also turn to the first generation of turbines nearing the end of their operational life. With tens of gigawatts expected to be decommissioned by 2030, the sector needs a strategic, circular approach.
Repowering existing sites offers a significant opportunity, increasing renewable energy output while making use of existing infrastructure, grid connections, and community support. The industry must also prioritise extending asset lifetimes, refurbishing components, and maximising reuse and recycling.
Strengthening circular practices and supply chains is essential to reducing environmental impacts and ensuring a sustainable, competitive, and resource-efficient European wind energy industry.
