Technical Workshop for the Surrey-AWE Centre of Excellence in Materials Ageing

Register your interest - January 2026

Third Technical Workshop for the Surrey-AWE Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Materials Ageing, Performance and Lifetime Prediction.

In January 2026, NCC will host the Third Technical Workshop for the Surrey-AWE Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Materials Ageing, Performance and Lifetime Prediction.

How to get involved

The CoE is in its fifth year, and this event aims to bring together researchers and research leaders from across the UK (and beyond) with an interest in the science and engineering of the ageing of engineering materials and material systems. Researchers from the University of Surrey, AWE, NCC and NPL will be presenting work aligned with various UK grand challenges, with an emphasis on defence applications.

There is room within the programme for a small number of short technical oral contributions. If you would like to give a presentation, please submit a 200-word Abstract by 1 October 2025 to Mark Whiting: [email protected].

The topic should be technical rather than commercial in nature, with an emphasis on both rigorous science/engineering and real-world impact. Contributions should focus on an aspect of ageing and/or life prediction of structural polymers, polymer composites, coatings, metal matrix composites or ceramic matrix composites. Posters are also welcome and will be displayed throughout the event.

This is an invitation only event and places are limited. To express an interest in attending, please complete the form below.
