JEC World 2023 in Paris

25 April 2023

25th - 27th April, Paris Nord Villepinte

The National Composites Centre, and the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland, part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, exhibited at JEC World 2023, the leading international composites show.

JEC World includes the whole value chain of composite materials under one roof at Paris Nord Villepinte, France, bringing together major stakeholders of the composites industry as well as innovative startups, academics, scientists and R&D leaders.

Part of the Composites UK pavilion, our stand showcased the industrial transformation that composites can offer, including demonstrators that highlight how composites are driving growth, unlocking innovation, creating opportunities for sustainability and a greener future. Our daily event themes covered: composites in hydrogen transportation and storage, energy transformation to future nuclear, and composites in offshore wind.

FILM: Enabling a circular economy for Wind

Wind Energy has a critical role to play in delivering global net zero ambitions. The European Commission offshore energy strategy calls for installed capacity across Europe to be 20 times that of today by 2050. Meeting this requires a quadrupling of Europe’s operational turbines by 2030.

The NCC is at the forefront of work to capitalise on the scale of the renewable wind energy opportunity. It’s pioneering work in the novel application of composites is unlocking opportunities to deploy larger wind turbines, in more challenging environments and with sustainable end-of-life solutions.
